We knew that the Android version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was on the way, and Rockstar Games was on a deadline, but the game was not really ready when it first hit the Google Play Store. GTA: San Andreas launched yesterday, and quickly gathered over 1,700 1-star reviews because the game simply didn't work at all on most devices.
Rockstar got to work and released a patch for the game today, which appears to have fixed the issues. Some users are still reporting some lag with the game, but even so the vast majority of the reviews posted today have rated the game at 4 or 5-stars. So, it seems like it is finally safe to purchase the game, if you are so inclined.
GTA: San Andreas will cost you $6.99 and requires Android 3.0 and higher, but the game is also 2.4GB, so you'll want to be sure you have the space cleared and you may also want to plan some Wi-Fi time before downloading. The game launched on iOS last week, and is due out on Windows Phone fairly soon as well, but it has yet to be released there.
