Larger-screen iPhone 2014 gets new support

When it comes to making predictions about the next iPhone, the detail that everyone sure seems to have their minds on at the moment is screen size. After going four inches with the iPhone 5, the rumor mill sure is insistent that Apple’s about to make another push towards a larger handset. We’ve heard mention of a 4.8-inch display, andmore recently a 5-incher, and today we find ourselves splitting the difference, with a new rumor claiming the iPhone 6′s screen might measure-in at 4.9 inches.
That’s well within the range of what we were hearing, so it’s much more confirmation than a new direction, but there’s another aspect to this new report that has us a little more interested. It also makes the case that next year’s equivalent of the iPhone 5C would also have a larger display, though maybe not quite as big as 4.9 inches. If that’s true, it would mean Apple’s abandoning the general notion of that sort of model being last year’s flagship, but in a cheaper-to-produce form.
Then again, this source is clear that Apple is still evaluating designs, so it could be that nothing at all is set in stone yet, and this needn’t be precisely how we see next year’s iPhones arrive.
